why do I spend time writing blogs ?

it's not so that i know what i have been doing or about to do or to describe what i have seen etc.
because i already now all that information.
i keep a journal - that i write every day or sometimes i need to catch up a few days
the journal is for me - it has all the things i do, see, feel etc.
it is where i express everything, worts and all about my journey within Swaziland and Africa. that is the important document for me.

so i write a blog for others to experience some of what i do, see, feel etc.  it is the abridged version with the intention of being the interesting version to read.

at the end of blog 13 i wrote that i was not well and needed to get to a doctor and find out what was wrong with me.

i wondered why i had not heard from anyone about this - except one person!
i notice today that only 1 person read blog 13.  and that person sent me an email to ensure that i was OK etc.

i thank her most sincerely as being the friend who made contact when i needed it and who was keeping in touch with what i am up to.

i now wonder if writing a blog is worth the effort.

i will maintain the journal as that is my record of all that is here for me for the 2 years.

  2. Hello Georgie. I have just managed to get into my email folders, on my phone. For some reason it doesn't want to cooperate like my computer, of which I rarely use now that I have a smartphone. So sorry to hear you were so ill. At least you had someone by your side throughout your ordeal and you are on the mend. Although I haven't read you blogs for a while, when I do, I read them all and I often think of you...particularly this morning, after waking up from a dream of me in Africa caring for a dozen motherless new born babies!
Something new is definitely on the horizon. All is good with all my girls now, and I am finally free of family responsibilities. I am currently at Mystery Bay visiting Sarah and my new granddaughter, Athena, born 2/3/2014. Returning to Townsville on Thursday, of which I am not looking forward to. Time is up there...job completed and ready for something new. Who knows, I might see you in Africa!!
Take care lovely lady and know that you are still thought of. Maria.

  3. Hi Georgina, sorry I have not replied to your blogs & my only excuse is the truth & I have just been time poor. I think of you most days as when I spray myself with your perfume you gifted to me I wonder how things are going & I should check your blogs more often & if I had I would of known you were in hospital & I feel awful. I do love your blogs, they are so descriptive they become visual, you really write well to give us a great picture of your experiences. Not much has changed in Warragul so I hope you are not missing home, your life seems to be filled with adventure, good & bad!!! I do miss our catch ups & I promise I will keep the communication going more often. Hope your back to good health. Take care beautiful lady. Health & happiness always luv from Del xxx
